Above is my ted talk link.
i learned a lot through out this project. And I'm defiantly going to let my team mates know how to prevent this injury. I would hate for it to happen to any of them.
so if i see any of their knees dive in or any of the signs of an ACL tear or even meniscus.

Before when my knee would lock up and i would say my trainer would play with it. he was doing the Lachman test.
Lachman Test (most sensitive ACL test)
- 98% accurate in predicting an ACL injury.more infohttp://orthosurg.ucsf.edu/patient-care/divisions/sports-medicine/conditions/knee/anterior-cruciate-ligament-injury-acl/

This website above shows some facts about ACL injuries.
And heres just a couple interesting facts from the page.
3. In a given year, there can be anywhere from 150, 000 to 200, 000 ACL injuries reported.
7. The top sports in which an ACL injury is a possibility are basketball, soccer, skiing, and football. What do all of those sports have in common? All of them make demands on the knees.
8. Although more ACL injuries occur in sports played by men, women are actually considered to be at a higher risk for ACL injuries.

For this assignment we had to create something.
At first I wanted to make a kit to help someone right after surgery on their knee.
I had trouble getting dressed, especially getting them over my legs carefully.
along with having a comfortable sleeping position with my leg elevated. Sometimes just getting up was a struggle.
Really the kit you would need is just someone there taking care of you and helping. Maybe for sleeping situation get something a little more stable, other than just 6 pillows stacked on each other.
For me sleeping was uncomfortable because I always sleep on my stomach and I shift to each side.
So the new thing i'm creating is just a prevention to knee injuries. A how to prevent injuries of your knee.

Complete Guide To Sports Injuries
MCL (page 226)
Signs & symptoms
-locking of the knee joint
-Giving way of the knee
My knee would all the time either give out or lock up while playing.
Causes
-twisting or violent muscles contraction
That I remember I didn't twist I jumped and landed. My knee might of twisted from giving out but.
Risk increase
-poor muscle conditioning
-nutrition
I'm pretty sure my muscles were good, along with my nutrition.
Possible complication with surgery
-Arthritic
-proneness to repeated knee injury
ACL (page 234)
-Violently over stretched
-Feeling of popping or tearing inside the knee
Cause
-Stress on ligament
-common in jumping sports
- often land on the side of the foot
Now in December when i landed i remember hearing a pop.
so part of me is kinda thinking that maybe I partially tore the ACL along with my MCL.
